About the Writer/Photographer

My headshot

Horror caught my attention at a young age, and I’ve enjoyed exploring the darkness hidden inside each person’s psyche. I’m also intrigued by each person’s capacity for astounding levels of goodness in the face of overwhelming evil.

My horror and paranormal mysteries tackle both these topics. The darker side of humanity is also on display inside my photographs.

Like many writers, I started putting pen to paper during early childhood. My first project was a family newspaper entitled The Taylor Family Times. Since then, I’ve spent more than three decades honing my craft through a wide variety of fiction, non-fiction, and ghostwriting projects. Along the way, I discovered a love for bringing the stories in my mind to life through photo sets as well.

I currently live in Michigan with my cat, Riley. I’m not nearly as jaded about romance as Alexa Bentley from Missing in Michiganbut I did give her my sense of humor. I’m also not nearly as morose as Ben from The Haunting of Cabin Green, but who hasn’t felt the sting of great loss?

I battle fibromyalgia on a daily basis, and fellow fibro sufferers are certain to notice how that’s impacted some of the characters in my books. I also weave a lot of real-life history (ranging from ancient history to things in my personal life) into each story.

I’m a proud member of the Horror Writer’s Association and RRBC. My books and photos have been honored by many awards, nominations, and commendations. PopSugar named The Haunting of Cabin Green as one of the ‘13 Most Chilling Horror Books of 2018.’

If my life was a cartoon, I’d be Lisa Simpson.
